Military Retirement Calculator FAQ | Retirement Ready
Answers to common questions before you build your estimate.
What does Retirement Ready calculate?
It estimates military retired pay and VA compensation with selected offsets and deductions. Supported paths include active-duty, Guard/Reserve and modeled medical retirement cases, with High-36, BRS, Final Pay and REDUX options.
Is this an official military retirement calculator?
No. Retirement Ready is made by Momentum Apps and is independent of DoD, DFAS, VA and the military branches. It provides planning estimates; official records and benefit determinations control your entitlement.
Does it work offline?
The calculator works offline and requires no account. Opening website links and downloading the app require an internet connection.
How much does the app cost?
The planned US download price for the refreshed release is $0.99, with no subscription or in-app purchases. Local storefront prices may differ. Check the download page for current launch availability.
Do you collect my pay or VA inputs?
Calculation inputs stay on your device. Optional remembered selections are stored locally. You can turn off Remember selections or clear the saved plan in Settings. See the privacy policy for full details.
Does it calculate my combined VA disability rating?
No. Enter the combined rating from your VA award. The app includes 2026 compensation tables effective December 1, 2025; an actual award amount can be entered for individual adjustments.
Does it calculate TSP, future COLA or take-home pay?
No. It does not project TSP balances, future COLA, taxes or a BRS lump-sum election. Results are before tax and use the pay base you enter.
Can I add CRDP and CRSC together?
No. They are alternative concurrent-pay scenarios in the app. CRSC uses an actual approved award. Retirement type and eligibility limits matter.
What if my estimate looks wrong?
Check the plan, pay base, creditable service, VA award and deductions first. Contact support with the app version and a non-identifying example. Do not send medical records, Social Security numbers or retirement orders.
